Am I affected by the motorcycle road restrictions in Austria?

The road restriction in the Lech Valley applies to motorcycles with a stationary noise level above 95 dB(A). You can find your stationary noise level in your vehicle registration under point U.1.

  • If your value is above 95 dB(A), you may not ride these routes.
  • If your value is exactly 95 dB(A) or below, you are allowed to ride them. The key value is the one listed in your registration documents. If you have an approved, EC-certified MILLER exhaust system that is in proper condition, you are allowed to ride on these roads as long as your stationary noise level does not exceed 95 dB(A). An EC-certified aftermarket exhaust system does not change your registered noise value. If your vehicle registration shows a stationary noise level of 95 dB(A) or less, you may use a compliant exhaust system and continue to ride these routes. If your value is above 95 dB(A), you may not use these routes from April 15 to October 31. Unfortunately, we cannot offer an exhaust system that reduces the stationary noise to below 95 dB(A).
